over sized/high performance head gasket?

We had the head shaved down on our Chevy S10 a few years back and were told that a regular head gasket would work, we have since found out this is not true. We were also told that we could buy a over sized or high performance head gasket that would be thicker to make up for the amount that was shaved off, the guy took 1/4 of an inch off. Does anyone know if they even make these or where we could find them? Thanks to anyone who can help.

I dont think your on the right path here.... A regular gasket should work if you have a truly level surface on the block and the head ie....... Warpage????? I would be checking with a stright edge you may need it redecked...but you have shaved a 1/4 inch allready?? Did he machine it with tooling or use a belt sander by hand?

Can This Laptop Run Crysis, Far Cry 2 or Any Other High Preformance Game?

I am trying to find a cheap laptop to play my games on, it's the HP Pavilion 17" Laptop featuring AMD Turion X2 RM-72 Dual-Core Processor that I saw at Best Buy a while back and I was wondering if Crysis or any other high performance game would run well on it? thx

Laptops aren't primarily meant for gaming yes, but there are quite a few laptops out there that are meant primarily for gaming. The only down side to these is that they tend to have a low battery life and run very hot.

Pros:
---This laptop has a decently sized screen and the resolution should fit the screen decently.
---It has a separate graphics card (not on board) so you can expect better video game performance from it compared to super cheap ones.
---It comes with a nice DVD-RW drive
---Comes fully equipped for networking
---4gb of Ram is pretty nice for a laptop
---2gb of video ram is extremely nice for a laptop
---HDMI output means that you can hook it up to high performance TV's.

Cons:
---While it does have a separate video card, it will not play Crysis. It will probably play Far Cry 2, but don't expect to max out those settings. Medium settings would probably turn out just fine though.
---The processor may have 2 cores, but it's got low clock speeds. So this laptop has plenty of performance for office programs and a bit of encrypting, but as far as super high performance games, sorry.
---Looking at the specs it's got an on-board sound card, this signifies that it isn't a gaming laptop, rather it's a laptop designed to save you money.
---Two and a half hours of battery life isn't the best I've seen, but it's still enough to get you to the next outlet.
---Low CPU L2 cache of only 1mb.. usually they're past 4mb.

As far as HP I have no complaints about the brand, they make decent office-type computers. In order to get a real gaming laptop you'd have to pay around $1,000. On a super deal you could get one for about $850.

For gaming desktop computers are just the way to go. Laptops are a good thought to gaming, but they aren't exactly game boys. It takes some extreme processing power to play today's games. This is also a major reason why Sony hasn't released a portable Playstation 3.
