June is here and all of you should have had some games by now.  Some have had more than others due to the weather playing havoc with our schedules.  Farmingdale and Plains games are being re-schedule as soon as possible by our VP's of baseball and softball.  Games at all other locations are re-scheduled by that league VP so we don't have control over when those get re-scheduled or if they even will.  I hope everyone understands that because of the rain, we are very limited on when we can re-schedule games.  There is very little flexibility because we don't know when it's going to rainout games again.  Re-scheduled games are going to be played on Saturdays and Sundays.  We have been working frantically to avoid rainouts, but we simply can't keep up with Mother Nature. 

 

We hope that all of you are enjoying the new dugouts that we installed this year.  Hopefully you have noticed cleaner equipment and players.  Please don't forget to check out our "Plains Athletics" t-shirts with baseball / softball logo on them at the concession stand.  We have all sizes from youth to adult XL and each is $10.  This is a way for us to make some extra money to continue projects like the dugouts.  These are nice quality t-shirts with 2 color (red blue) logos. 

 

The concession stand has been doing well so far this season.  Thanks to all of you that have volunteered to help.  Please keep up the good work.  Your efforts are much needed and appreciated. 

 

Our umpires have been working very hard this season.  Please don't forget to thank them for their efforts when you get the chance.  We all understand that you will not always agree with the call made by an umpire, but remember that they are learning and gaining experience with every game just as the kids are learning as they play.  The job of an umpire is difficult at best and is always a thankless job.  Help our umpires stay interested in working games by showing your appreciation.
